Dicep Cap, Tall Story Event

MRI attended the Diced Cap Event - Tartan Tall Story 2009. It was an amazing eveing and a lot of money was raised in for MRI and also the two other brilliant charities at the event (CLAN & Children 1st).

2009 is the year of the ‘Homecoming’ celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of the famous Scots poet Robert Burns. Scots from all over the world are being encouraged to return home and invigorate Scotland’s economy in the process. Whether a short visit or to stay a warm welcome will be awaiting them and many high profile events are planned by a host of organisations throughout Scotland.

The event took place at The Marriott Hotel Dyce, Aberdeen. The night featured an array of quality musicians and song and high profile speakers including: Scotland’s First Minister, Rt Hon Alex Salmond MP MSP whose rapier wit and powerful speaking is was a delighful end to the evening.

MRI's Ann Laing and Alan Findlay was joined by the three students that helped rebrand MRI this year.

At the end of the event, we were lucky enough to have a quick chat with Scotland’s First Minister, Rt Hon Alex Salmond. He was impressed with the new rebranding and said that he would try to come out to Stonehaven to make a personal visit to MRI.

We look forward to this occasion.
