MRI SAR TeamThe MRI SAR Team is made up of 20 volunteers from within the local community. They are on call 24 hours a day throughout the year.
The crew is formed from volunteers from MRI staff and the local population. As a declared emergency response unit, MRI has to be ready to launch for an incident within 10 minutes. As not all MRI staff live within a 10 minute journey, not all are on the team, though they may be involved if an incident occurs during work hours. Every team member, whether MRI staff or not, contributes greatly to training and real life incidents. The men and women, who are The MRI SAR Team come from all walks of life; Carpet layer, Director, Engineer, Fireman, Harbourmaster, Lecturer, Painter, Paramedic, Photographer, Policeman, etc.. They give up their time to train, exercise and respond to SAR Calls, whatever the time, whatever the weather. |
