The lower age limit for RYA powerboat Level 1 course is 8 years and for Level 2 is 12 years but the RYA would not recommend under 16’s being left in charge of a powerboat without adult supervision. Minimum age for Intermediate and Safety Boat courses is 16 years and for Advanced is 17 years.

Powerboaters with special needs – the RYA scheme allows for powerboaters with disabilities who may complete the scheme with special endorsements to indicate the sections of the syllabus for which the powerboater requires assistance.

We can come to you in the UK, Ireland or EU for tuition in your own boat or come to us with your own boat or use our boats (outboard or jet) at Stonehaven to complete your RYA course.
