MRI are visited by international groups, not only to train them but just to strengthen their bonds together. KNRM and Canadian Coast Guard (and many others) have visited the MRI base in Stonehaven to see why MRI is so widely known as one of the best companies in their field of rescue.

International Work

MRI is a member of the International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) which is the representative body of the world's maritime search co ordination and rescue organisations. MRI's CEO, Hamish McDonald OBE, is one of the IMRF's seven Trustees. Members of MRI have travelled all over the world to attend emergency waterborne conferences to help better their essential service.

The MRI trains SAR Lifeboat crews from countries such as Holland, Germany, Iceland, Belgium, Norway, Sweden and has a world wide reputation for the quality of its provision of advisory / training services.

MRI stays in constant contact with these crews as together we can all combine our extensive knowledge of waterborne rescue to provide the best possible service for the public.

Despite attending/holding vital conferences and training programmes overseas, MRI will still have members of their team ready to respond to any calls that require their services back home in Stonehaven, Scotland.
